Former field instructor SUH CHEN HSIAO came in-house, joining the USC School of Social Work field education faculty in 2010.
For the last decade, Hsiao was a supervising psychiatric social worker and special administrator with the Los Angeles County Unified School District’s mental health unit. There, she worked as a therapist, team leader and administrator overseeing the San Pedro Clinic, a LAUSD mental-health clinic that assists children and families in several South Bay cities. Six of those years, Hsiao trained and supervised USC MSW students, which in 2007 earned her an Outstanding Field Instructor award for her efforts.
Before joining LAUSD, the Taiwanese native worked for the Edleman Children’s System of Care within the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, providing direct services, community outreach, needs assessment, program planning, development and administration.
